Here at CDF we always support and admire the fundraising work that other charities do, but theres one event in particular that seems to be getting more and more popular every year and that is the Race for Life which was created by Cancer Research UK.
In July 2016, 15 members of Clare’s family the youngest being 4 years old and oldest being 68 years old, took part in the 5k Race for Life event as Clare’s ladies at Haydock Park Racecourse. The figure raised was approximately £1800, most of the money raised went to CDF whilst a smaller donation went to Cancer Research UK.
This year it could be you doing exactly the same with events being organised up and down the country. Locally Aintree’s event is on 18th June and Haydocks is on the 16th July. Making these types of events enjoyable is so important and the opportunity to do Race for Life as a group makes this event unique.
To get involved all you need to do is click here to find an event close to you, our plans to get involved are already underway and we can’t wait. The Race for Life website here also shows how money raised is used in the fight against cancer and outlines their visions and plans to tackle the disease.
